Poles of Unity, a new project from Lawrence Pitre, sponsored by the City of Seattle Office of Arts and Culture. The Poles of Unity will be part of the Rainier Valley Greenway project, depicting the various cultures that make the Rainier Valley so diverse. The project will be created on 8x8 poles representing African American, Filipino, Hispanic, Chinese, Native American, Italian, and Japanese cultures. Each culture will be represented with icons and images, depicting the unique aspects of the people of the Rainier Valley. The project will be installed on August 1st on 45th street between Othello and Webster St for a duration of one year. We hope you enjoy!
